Woman stabs expectant mum to death & cut baby out of her womb

Angelikque Sutton's dream of motherhood was gruesomely cut short on Friday, November 20, in the Bronx, when a crazy woman stabbed her before cutting the baby out of her womb.

According to Daily News, the 22-year-old was 8½ months pregnant and preparing for the baby’s arrival on Dec. 2. Ashleigh Wade, also 22, allegedly strangled Sutton, then cut the young woman’s throat before knifing her in the stomach about 2:30 p.m. She then tore out her victim’s child. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.

"It appears that the fetus of this woman was removed ... surgically removed by the perpetrator," Bronx Councilman Andy King said after being briefed by the police. "This is an ugly incident that cannot be condoned."
When first responders arrived, Wade claimed that the blood-soaked baby was hers, a police source said.
"She tried to sell the idea that the baby was hers and she had just given birth right there," a high-ranking police source said. "But that was clearly not the case."
The baby girl, named Genesis miraculously survived. She was taken to Montefiore Medical Centre and is currently stable.

"Usually when something like this happens the baby is dead," a police source said.
Patrick Bradley, Sutton’s boyfriend, was in a state of shock as he tried to see the baby at Montefiore Friday night, but was told he couldn’t because of the pending investigation.
"I’m the baby’s father. I’ve been with her for eight years," Bradley told The News. "I don’t know what’s going on. Were there any survivors?"

Charges against Wade were pending Friday night, as she was taken to Jacobi Medical Center for a psychiatric evaluation.
Sutton and Wade went to school together, according to a relative of the victim.
"Ashleigh called her to rekindle the friendship and then she did this," Sutton’s aunt, Zika Donaldson, said.

Wade’s boyfriend, who called 911 after walking into the blood-splattered apartment — was also being questioned Friday evening, police said.
Sutton, who had just graduated from St. John’s with a criminal justice degree, lived with her two sisters as she awaited her baby’s arrival. Her father is a pastor at the nearby Zion Hill Pentecostal Church.
"I can’t believe it ... I just saw her earlier today," said one devastated neighbor.
